Relaxing weekend in Wales
What a productive weekend. Yesterday myself, Kat and Matrix (dog Kat is looking after) went over the Llanwrtyd Wells to watch the start of man V’s Horse. This is a running event which does exactly what it says on the tin. Then today we have taken a walk up the river Wye from Builth wells, just gotta follow the footpath from the town and you come across some really magic spots. As well as that I have also had a little play to see the best way to in bed video’s into my blog, worked it out but its a little bit of a hassle and I am sure there must be a simpler way, any idea’s?

As I said this is a running event. The event begins and ends in the small town of Llanwrtyd Wells in Powys, Wales. For those who are not familiar with the event it’s a 22 mile run between horses and men/women. It started back in 1980 when two blokes disagreed about whether a man would beat horse over a certain distance, of course this all happened over a beer in the pub. For a full run down on how man V’s horse came about. Here you will be able to see that it is possible for a man to beat the horse, I was shocked too!! I have lived just down the road from this event for a while now but never had the chance to go. I have to say I was very surprised by not only the amount of people who enter but the number which turn up to support the event. Unfortunately we did not get the chance to stick around and enjoy a few beers in the evening but I am sure its a great atmosphere throughout the afternoon and into the night. I have but a little clip of the start just so you can see how many people are actually involved. Hats off to them all, it a big run over uneven terrain, notes from a runner. Visit the Green events site for more information if you would like to get involved, they also have information bout the national bog snorkeling championships which are held in the same town later in the summer.
I was thinking if I am still here in a year I might enter – then I came to my senses. Be under no illusions this event is global, check out some opinions on man V’s horse here.
