I am certainly one of those people who works to live and not the other way round. This is of course why I want to travel around the world. Living is about getting the things you want out of life, for me and allot of others out there the things I want I believe I can find in travel once i have the money. Why do we work 75 hour weeks? A travellers perspective
These are my first thoughts on saving money to travel around the world. I have given this some thought after looking at a couple of other blogs for tips about saving, there are so many which talk through ways to save money with coupons etc. There are not so many which talk about not spending money, not impulse buying and only buy what you cant live without.
Saving involves not spending
Savings with Sadie has some interesting money saving tips for you Americans out there. How I save money has some great tips on budgeting and saving long term which is also well worth a read. Fantastic, we learn how to save money when we go out and buy our groceries, toiletries and every thing else we need. For me what so many of these blogs do not address are the impulses that we have (apologies if I have Saving to Travel Around The World

Travellers Recommended Reading
What i read about backpacking around the world, their are alot of travel stories and blogs which tell you you should always have something to read. There for I am going to keep a record of what I read. Not neciserially a book review, just to say I have read and I think it would be worth reading.
Mr Nice is an autobiography of Howard Marks. A Welshman from the valleys Howard Marks once had 45 ish different names, nearly a hundred phone numbers and made his money smuggling Marijuana. This is not a book about drugs although they obviously play their part, its a story of a man who travelled round the world thinking very cleverly about how to smuggle Marijuana from place to place. A very interesting book which includes alot of travel and well worth Mr Nice, Howard Marks

Get a Job in the French Alps
Being a chalet host in the French Alps is not easy, it can be really hard work. The bloke you share a room with is a nutter, its minus 20, your guests this week are a bunch of wankers and your wine delivery cant gt up the hill because of the weather. Is it that bad really, no of course not. . . you wake up on your ONE day off and there is6ft of fresh powder and you know exactly where to go to get at least 2 lines of fresh snow before the punters recover from their hangovers, you have had an adrenaline pumped day on the hill and you head back to resort for a drink before you start work, serve up a pro dinner and head to the bar with 10 things to think about as a chalet host
