Hey man, I just wanted to say good luck to you. I'm in the same position where in 3 years from now, I'd like to be packed up and on a plane starting my ATL. Its great to have a plan and a focus, thats the only way you'll get there. Saving money, and sticking to it. With my mindset, I think I'll get there too. Keep at the website, I like the flow of it.

Great post, I've been through this all - I went travelling to Asia a while back, and I had to plan for what seemed AGES , with only a part time job to cover my costs - though it was all worth it in the end! In countries full of beautiful (and cheap!) things, the "Dont buy anything you could live without" made me giggle - yep, that was me alright! I'm now saving once again for a house and more travel, to Africa next time! Researching accounts is another way to save for the 'good stuff' (particularly since account keeping fees take away money better spent on fun life experiences!! :) ) Read all fine print or go to comparison sites like <a href="" rel="nofollow"> make sure your money stays with you - or the market stall owner in Vietnam hehe!!! :)

so true . . . saving is done by not spending: I too worked hard, didn't spend then travelled the world with a backpack and no plans - solo - for 3 years.

read all about it in the book Naked in Budapest:travels with a passionate nomad, check out my website (http://kiwitravelwriter.com) for more info and links to my blogs,
